“In addition to all the fun and games, the day’s activities — which will include sports courts and cooking demonstrations — will help educate families on smart ways to incorporate healthy eating and exercise choices into their daily routines, which are key pillars of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! initiative,” says a press release from the White House.
According to a press release from the Health Initiative, White House officials contacted Jeff Graham, executive director of Georgia Equality, for help in picking an LGBT family to represent Georgia.
Ellis’ selection is especially noteworthy this year as it comes at the end of National LGBT Health Awareness Week.
