HRC Donates 15,000 Face Masks with HRC Gives Back

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has launched HRC Gives Back, a digital campaign to raise funds for the critical fight for LGBTQ rights while still benefitting essential workers and community organizations in need during the coronavirus pandemic.

HRC Gives Back offers one of five HRC-branded face masks to every new member who pledges $29 or more to the organization, as well as a donation of two blue masks to one of 50 community partners.

One such partner is Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, a health care organization that provides holistic services to people living with emotional, behavioral, or cognitive differences nationwide. Devereux has already received 7,200 face masks as part of the program.

In only a week, HRC Gives Back has received nearly 7,000 membership contributions, which means nearly 15,000 cloth face masks donated to 50 organizations.

“We are living in unprecedented times and the overwhelming success of HRC Gives Back is an especially heartening development—showing that people continue to understand the critical importance of fighting for LGBTQ rights while giving back to those on the front lines,” said HRC President Alphonso David. “We’re grateful to our members and supporters for helping make this important initiative successful.”
