To celebrate the beginning of Pride Month, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has released a #PrideInside toolkit, which includes a series of resources to help the LGBTQ community and allies celebrate Pride.
HRC has included a slew of virtual resources that makes celebrating Pride at home easy. Included in the toolkit are:
-Ways to Engage: A guide to finding an event or volunteer opportunity near you and a link to TEAM, an app that allows you to engage your contacts via SMS text, email, and social media about the pro-equality issues they care about.
–Family Fun: A Drag Queen Story Time with Akasha Royale, the Pride Inside Activity Book, and instructions to make a Rainbow Crown with household items, a homemade pennant Pride banner, a feather boa out of leftover tissue paper, and a mask out of an old HRC shirt.
–Partners in Pride: Links to HRC’s Partners in Pride, a page about Starbucks’ support of and advocacy for the LGBTQ community, and Outspoken, a livestreaming event on June 9 focusing on stories about the LGBTQ experience.
–Comic Relief: A special message from comedian Dana Goldberg.
–Wear Your Pride: HRC’s rainbow Pride merchandise.
“Pride is about being visible, owning who you are, coming together to celebrate how far we’ve come as a community, and keeping up our fight for full equality,” the description of the toolkit reads. “There is no cancelling the spirit at the heart of Pride or the deep sense of connection that comes with celebrating it.”
