House Reps. to introduce ENDA this week

As Americans struggle to recover from one of the worst economic recessions in our nation’s history, it’s important to remember that the risk of losing a job can be far greater for LGBT people. HRC has worked with members on both sides of the aisle to introduce The Employment Non-Discrimination Act.

Frank told Metro Weekly that the legislative priority for equality advocates in Congress would be for employment non-discrimination.

“ENDA will pass before DOMA [Defense of Marriage Act] will be repealed congressionally. I believe that, with regard to DOMA, the goal is to win it in court,” Frank said. “I do not think there is a good likelihood of getting DOMA repealed through the Congress. I think there is a good likelihood, in a Democratic Congress, of getting an inclusive ENDA.”
