Newt Gingrich readies presidential bid?

Gingrich was the Speaker of the House from 1995 to 1999, until he resigned in the wake of Republican congressional losses. He later admitted to having an affair with House staffer Callista Bisek during the Monica Lewinsky scandal involving President Bill Clinton. He and Bisek are now married. The marriage is Gingrich’s third.

Since stepping down, Gingrich has been a contributor for the conservative-leaning Fox News Channel. Several Fox News contributors have also been linked with a presidential bid, including former governors Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin.

Recently, Gingrich has spoken out against the repeal of the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy and has suggested President Obama be impeached over his administration’s decision to no longer defend the Defense of Marriage Act in court.
