“Ordinary Days” is penned by Adam Gwon, a rising talent who was just awarded the 2011 Kleban Prize for Most Promising Musical Theatre Lyricist. Gwon will visit Atlanta June 18 and perform as part of Serenbe’s Late Night Cabaret that evening.
Gay audiences will appreciate the message of self-acceptance in “Ordinary Days,” Clowdus says.
“It’s about trying to find your own voice, and embracing the simple things in life step by step, day by day,” he says. “By the end of the show, all the characters have accepted themselves and each other for who they are.”
Clowdus, who attended graduate school at the University of South Carolina, started Serenbe Playhouse last year and has been pleased at the reception the company has received.
All of their shows are performed outdoors.
