Jimmy McMillan, who gained notoriety as leader of the Rent Is Too Damn High Party, when asked about “personal liberties” at CPAC, where he stopped by the gay GOProud booth to say he supports gay marriage and personal privacy “because I get freaky in my bedroom.” McMillan plans to run for president in 2012. “I guess that if you are a Guatemalan gay man who likes to gamble and smokes marijuana, you probably think we’re onto some good ideas here.”

— Rhode Island House Minority Leader Robert A. Watson, a Republican, complaining that the state legislature is too fixated on gay marriage, immigration, gambling and medical marijuana, instead of finances. Some immigrant groups complained. (On Top Magazine, Feb. 13)
