Police chief: Eagle raid punishments ‘premature’

In his response, Chief Turner does not give an indication of the investigation’s timeline, though he wrote the investigation would be completed “expeditiously.”

Read Turner’s response below:

The city has come under fire for a string of recent controversies involving the police department. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution also reported last week that the Atlanta police officers involved in the Atlanta Eagle raid racked up large tabs at the bar before the actual raid began while officer Bennie Bridges, the lead investigator in the case, was recently arrested in Cobb county on DUI and marijuana possession charges. Bridges has since been placed on administrative leave without pay.
