On Sunday, dozens of people gathered at the City Club of Buckhead to celebrate the successes of Lambda Legal as well as make donations to the nonprofit fighting for equality and against discrimination for LGBT people. Special guests were Michael Bishop and Shane Thomas, two of the plaintiffs in Lambda’s lawsuit challenging Georgia’s same-sex ban.
Lambda Legal attorneys Beth Littrell, Greg Nevins and Tara Borelli updated the attendees about other legal action taking place across the country for marriage equality as well as cases against HIV discrimination, hospital visitation for same-sex couples, ensuring children are protected during same-sex breakups of their parents, and fighting on behalf of transgender employees discriminated against in the workplace.
