[Video] Lesbian parents address anti-gay Mich. mayor Janice Daniels

On Dec. 5, Tina Weber, with her wife Amy and their two children at her side, gave her own two-cents back at a city council meeting helmed by Daniels, who won the mayoral election in November.

Others gave their thoughts, but Weber’s brief speech has given a particularly warm spin to a situation that is often met with hatred on both sides. Sometimes gay venom is glitter. Sometimes it’s anger. And both of those can work in their own unfocused ways. But Weber’s speech about love reminds us all that fighting fire with fire can lead to more fire, not the love we should all choose to celebrate.
