Atlanta Pride announces Official Kickoff Party

The Atlanta Pride Committee has just announced its Official Kickoff Party. The 2018 event will be held at the Georgia Aquarium on October 12, a Friday.

The soiree marks the starting point for the Southeast Region’s premiere Pride event. The celebration of LGBTQ culture will run October 13-14.

This is the ninth year that the Aquarium has hosted the opening for Atlanta Pride. DJ Mark Gordon and VJ Kevin Durard will perform.

In a press release, the Executive Director of APC, Jamie Fergerson, noted that the APC and the Georgia Aquarium forged a healthy working relationship eight years ago, and the two institutions have benefited from the partnership. It’s a sentiment that is echoed by head honchos at both organizations.

Will Ramsey, the VP of sales at the Aquarium, said that Atlanta’s favorite marine life center was “ecstatic” to be once again hosting the Official Atlanta Pride Kickoff Party, an “award-winning event.”

Ramsey said that the Aquarium looked “forward to welcoming the LGBTQ community, family members, and friends from around the world to begin the weekend of Atlanta Pride festivities.”

“Georgia Aquarium is proud to celebrate and support diversity, and the Atlanta Pride Kickoff Party is just one way to show our support of the LGBTQ community.”

An AT&T Dolphin Celebration will be included with the event.

The Official Kick Off Party will run from 7-11 p.m. Tickets are $30 for advance General Admission, $40 at the door (if available), and $90 for Lounge tickets. Tickets will be available beginning today–exactly four months before the event.
