The fest concluded with headliners and national gay artists Jason & deMarco and then God-des and She to a lively crowd.
The day was also a tribute to Sept. 11. Several veterans spoke at the beginning of Pride to ask for the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and praised the recent federal district court ruling stating the anti-gay policy is unconstitutional.
Entertainers also took on the timely topic. Drag queen Christiana Singlair entertained with Melissa Etheridge’s song, “Tuesday Morning.” The song is a tribute to Mark Bingham, a passenger on Flight 93 on Sept. 11 and fought back against the terrorists.
