After two months of online balloting and thousands of votes cast, we present this year's crop of winners
Southwest Airlines, new to Atlanta thanks to a merger with AirTran, is celebrating its arrival to the Peach State by awarding $75,000 in grants to local charities.
Among the 15 organizations vying for one of the grants is the Atlanta Gay Men's Chorus. The chorus, listed in the “small charity” group, is up against VOX Teen Communications, Good Mews Animal Foundation, Nuci's Space and Coastal Counseling Center.
Georgia residents – sorry out of state readers – can vote for one winner in each category (small, medium and large charities), once a day until March 18.
Voters will also be entered to win a trip for two to Las Vegas, courtesy of Southwest, that includes tickets to a Cirque du Soleil production, round-trip airfare and four nights in the ARIA Resort & Casino.
Congratulations to Taylor Elkington for winning our Delta Air Lines ticket giveaway at this year’s Atlanta Pride festival. Taylor won two round-trip Delta Air Lines tickets to anywhere in the continental United States, Alaska, Canada or Mexico. We hope that he goes somewhere fun.
We signed up more than a thousand people for our weekly e-mail newsletter during Pride.
Who is the best Georgia politician? Where is the best place to dance in the city? These categories and many more are now open for voting.
While Atlanta’s own Mr. Atlanta Eagle Chandler Bearden did not win International Mr. Leather 2010 despite his sexy, racy and just plain sweet style, another sexy winner took home the leather sash. And with his win, Tyler McCormick of New Mexico broke all kinds of barriers.
