F.R.O.G.S. Cantina raises funds for Rush Center expansion

Every Tuesday in August, Midtown eatery F.R.O.G.S. Cantina will donate a portion of its sales to the Phillip Rush Center expansion project announced earlier this year.

The Rush Center, Atlanta's LGBT community center, opened in 2008 and is managed by Georgia Equality and the Health Initiative.

In late March, the stakeholders of the center announced a plan to expand its current space by some 1,700 square feet, which will be used for a new event space. Additional office space will also be created as part of the expansion.

AID Atlanta hosts Happy Hour tonight at FROGS

AID Atlanta’s Gay Men’s Outreach Coordinator Steven Igarashi will host a Happy Hour tonight at F.R.O.G.S. Cantina in Midtown for those interested in learning about AID Atlanta’s programs and tips on how to have safer sex. First time participants may qualify for a free "adult" beverage.

The meet-up is today between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and is open to the public, although focused on Caucasian gay and bisexual men.

Southern Bears beer bash for charity

Southern Bears is hosting a charity drive tonight at F.R.O.G.S. Cantina to benefit Jerusalem House’s General Resident Program.

Jerusalem House provides housing for homeless and low-income individuals and families affected by HIV / AIDS.

The group will collect non-perishable food items, paper plates, napkins, toilet paper, towels for donation. Southern Bears will also accept a monetary donation that will be used to purchase much needed items. There will be a bin outside of F.R.O.G.S. for collection.
