Anti-gay Ga. congressman tapped for key House budget subcommitee

While Congress is wrapping up its 112th legislative session by dealing with the fiscal cliff and Hurricane Sandy emergency funding, plans are already underway for the upcoming session, set to kick off tomorrow.

In local news, U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) has been named as the chair of the Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education under the House Committee on Appropriations.

Last year under its Republican leadership, the subcommittee worked to defund the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), more commonly called ObamaCare, and tried to cut Planned Parenthood funding unless it ceased providing abortions.

In 3, 2, 1 … Christian preacher blames Hurricane Sandy on the gays

Well, we knew it was coming, didn't we? Gay people are the reason for the Frankenstorm hitting the Northeast, at least according to a Pennsylvania preacher who just happens to be in the path of Hurricane Sandy.

Called the "perfect storm," Hurricane Sandy has forced New York and Washington, D.C., to close their public transit systems today, the New York Stock Exchange has closed physical trading and people in Manhattan and New Jersey have been told to evacuate to safer areas. It's going to be one major mess. You would think prayers for those in the path of the hurricane would be in order by people of God.
