The fourth annual North Georgia Marietta Pride brought together hundreds of LGBT people and friends to LeBuzz the weekend of July 26-28 that included drag legend, DJ and porn producer Chi Chi LaRue as mistress of ceremonies.
Each year the fest raises money for a local charity and this year proceeds went to the Health Initiative, which intends to use the funds to help LGBT people in Marietta with health care concerns.
Rep. Phil Gingrey, our Georgia representative from Marietta (and a medical doctor to boot), wants elementary school students to learn all about gender stereotypes so there won't be any confusion when they grow up about boys and girls and how they can only love and marry people of the opposite sex.
Today, the Southern Baptist Convention, meeting in Houston, voted to approve a resolution showing its dismay with the recent decision by the Boy Scouts of America to allow openly gay youth members.

Several churches in Georgia are busily kicking out Boy Scouts after the national organization said it would allow gay boys into its ranks (but still keep out those pesky adults who were at one time gay youth themselves.).
And Georgia, while it now has to accept GAYPWR, is getting some downright dismaying reactions to the pastors of these churches who are not doing what Jesus would do and turning away these young men because, well, being gay is a sin, according to their narrow minds.
