If you haven't heard of Sissy Bounce, you don't know what you are missing. This is some of the most fun, loud, azz-shaking music in the entire world and Atlanta was fortunate to have the Queen Diva herself, Big Freedia, in town on Jan. 21 to spread some popping joy — the perfect way to end a historic MLK holiday that included a presidential inauguration.
Sissy Bounce, which I learned about from Atlanta's own Mondo Homo fest, "features explicitly gay and cross-dressing musicians and themes." And while Big Freedia may appear to be masculine, she is definitely all diva and uses a female pronoun. Her hits include the booty-shaking anthem "Azz Everywhere!" and "Gin In My System."
