What do you think, readers? Homophobic or radical queer cool?
Caroline Smith, a photographer and personal trainer, snapped this photo on Wednesday in Atlanta at the corner of Randolph Street and Irwin Street in the Old Fourth Ward. She said the graffiti appeared Tuesday, which just happened to be the International Day Against Homophobia.
At first, Smith, who is openly gay, says she was excited to see the photo. But then the small word “fags” at the lower right of the tag made her wonder if the person who spray painted, “Stay Gay, Atlanta,” may be being a bit ironic.
