Amazon, the world's largest online retailer, is a friend of equality. Besides signing on to a court brief supporting same-sex marriages ahead of the upcoming Supreme Court hearing on the Defense of Marriage Act, Amazon was at the forefront of last year's equality push in Washington state (where the company is based) and its founder has donated a ton of money to help the movement.
Amazon also has a Corporate Equality Index score of 90 issued by the Human Rights Campaign in its annual report of LGBT-friendly businesses.
So it's no surprise that Amazon has jumped on the gay bandwagon in terms of advertising. A recent commercial promoting the company's Paperwrite e-reader released last month features a gay-friendly twist.
