In the film, a 13 year-old trans activist Zoey Luna wants nothing more than to simply go to school, learn, and have fun with her friends in Downey, CA. Unfortunately, ignorance and intolerance have not always made this easy. With the help of her mother Ofella, her oldest sister Leticia and the ACLU, Zoey fought school officials for her right to self-identity in school.

The film recounts the harrowing story of Recy Taylor, who bravely identified her white rapists after a brutal sexual assault, and the NAACP’s chief rape investigator, a woman named Rosa Parks, who rallied support and triggered an unprecedented outcry for justice. This event is free and open to the public.
