[Video] ‘When did it become hateful to support marriage?’

Hoffman was obviously not cool in high school either.

She ends the video by listing a half dozen or more statistics on how modern marriage is failing and the cure-all, obviously, to society’s failure is simple: Keep fighting against the civil rights of LGBT people because gays and lesbians are the single greatest reason for children being born out of wedlock and “traditional” marriages falling apart.

Hoffman’s condescending tone is unbearable throughout the clip. You can tell she wants to sound caring and knowledgeable about the issue, but she sounds more like bad boss Bill Lumbergh from “Office Space.” Fake. And not at all caring about your Saturday afternoons.

Check out the video below to see what I mean:

Anna Maria doesn’t support marriage. She supports denying gay and lesbian couples the same legal protections that she would have if she were married. And by taking this position, she believes it will mean no more single mothers, no more divorce and no more inter-racial marriage. I made that last one up, but you know what I mean.

There is no such thing as “traditional marriage.” That tired cliché is nothing but an excuse that you hold over the heads of people different from you as to why you and people like you are better than those who aren’t. It’s intolerant. And yes, it’s bigoted.

To answer her question, it became “hateful” to oppose marriage equality not that long ago. But Anna Maria, there’s still plenty of time for you to hop on the right side of history.
