Georgia Voice’s Berlin Sylvestre Wins NLGJA Award

The NLGJA Association of LGBTQ Journalists have given an award to Georgia Voice’s own Berlin Sylvestre. Our former editor and current writer has received the Excellence in Feature Writing, Non-Daily Award for her article “The Thief of Self.”

NLGJA’s Excellence in Journalism Awards were established in 1993 to foster, recognize, and reward excellence in journalism on LGBTQ issues.

“Our judges say they had a hard time choosing winners – an encouraging indicator of the great work journalists are producing about our communities,” said NLGJA President Sharif Durhams. “NLGJA is proud to recognize the work of so many outstanding journalists.”

The awards will be presented to winners at the NLGJA National Convention August 29-September 1 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Congratulations Berlin!
