Ga. State Rep. Karla Drenner (D-Avondale Estates) reintroduced the Georgia Fair Employment Practices Act this week. The bill, first introduced in 2011, would add sexual orientation and gender identity to protected statuses for public employment under the Fair Employment Practices Act.
Drenner is one of three openly lesbian state lawmakers and has pushed for an LGBT inclusive employment protections update to Georgia's employment practices.
The bill was reintroduced Wednesday. It was tabled in committee last February, which included vile testimony by Tanya Ditty, state director of the anti-gay Concerned Women for America, against LGBT people, including comparing them to pedophiles and necrophiliacs. (See video below.)
