The official fun gets underway with a dinner tonight featuring Cleve Jones and David Mixner. In the meantime, I’m working from my hotel room at the Loews, where I have cranked the heat up ridiculously high — Philly is cold, y’all.
And like the silly Southern girl that I am, I’m secretly wishing tonight’s forecast of rain turns to snow. I mean, where better for the Weather Channel’s “Winter Storm Q” to hit than a town chock full of queer journalists?
I can hope for snow, in part, because I would get to enjoy it from the window and not be out in it, as tomorrow’s agenda calls for a full day of panel discussions.
We’ll have sessions on “LGBT Issues in the Age of Immigration Reform,” “Thinking Global: LGBT Action on International Issues,” “A Generation on the Move: LGBT Aging,” “Moving Beyond Trans 101” and “LGBT Workers and the Labor Movement.”
At 9 p.m. Saturday night, we’ll gather at Tavern on Carmac. The public is invited, so if you happen to be in Philly this weekend too, come join us!
