On Feb. 19, the Big Gay Game Show hosted its Valentine’s edition of the wacky event that highlights such favorites as Match Game, the Newlywed Game and Family Feud — and all of it to raise funds for Lost-N-Found Youth, an Atlanta-based non-profit that helps homeless LGBT young people.
This edition was especially memorable as John Jeffrey, aka Sissy Sweet Tea of the Atlanta Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, proposed to his partner of 20 years, Rick Westbrook, a founder and executive director of Lost-N-Found. Westbrook is also Sister Rapture Divine Cox of the Sisters and the two are also co-founders of the East Point Possums. And, of course, Jeffrey is a key part of the all-volunteer Lost-N-Found Youth organization.
But both were in their civilian drag on this night and Jeffrey, with the help of porn star Charlie Harding as well as the Sisters and East Point family of choice, surprised Westbrook by coming out from behind the curtain on the stage of the Jungle bearing a bouquet of flowers and a tiny signature blue box. Jeffrey dropped to his knee and asked Westbrook for his hand and, between tears and smiles, he said yes.
