Out country musician Brandi Carlile will accept the Impact Award at this year’s Country Music Television (CMT) Next Women of Country Event.

Carlile will accept the award for her achievements and contributions in the country music industry as a woman, “while impacting songwriting, recording, radio airplay, record sales, streams, media impressions, awards, and touring in country music over the past year.”

“Not only is [Carlile] one of the greatest performers of our time, she’s an incredible advocate and champion for her fellow female artists, lending her support and star power to up-and-coming artists in the genre,” said Leslie Fram, the Senior Vice President, Music Strategy and Talent at CMT. “We are truly thrilled to celebrate her monumental achievements, both as a solo artist, producer, and as a member of the groundbreaking group The Highwomen with this Impact Award.”

Carlile has made quite the impact on the industry, earning numerous accolades: her album By The Way, I Forgive You won this year’s Grammy for Best Americana Album, she won a Grammy for Best American Roots Song for her song “The Joke,” and she won best the Grammy for Best American Roots Performance for the same song.

The Impact Award will be presented to Carlile by singer-songwriter Lucie Silvas and Change the Conversation co-founder Tracy Gershon at the Next Women of Country event on November 12 at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN.
