First it was the White House, then other government buildings around the country, and now Atlanta City Hall will join the lineup and be illuminated in rainbow colors in honor of the U.S. Supreme Court striking down same-sex marriage bans nationwide.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed announced the news on Monday, saying that the display will occur each evening this week through Thursday. Mayor Reed’s office tells us that the idea came from his staff and that he was quickly on board with it.

“The Supreme Court ruling marks a momentous victory for freedom, equality and love,” Reed said in a statement to the AJC. “I am proud to light up City Hall as we celebrate this crucial step toward achieving our vision of equality.”

Check back as we’ll have pics up of the display tonight!
