“The Flash” Actor Rick Cosnett Comes Out

The Flash and The Vampire Diaries actor Rick Cosnett came out as gay in a touching Instagram video.

In a clip captioned, “Just me, hello,” Cosnett, who played detective Eddie Thawne in The Flash and Dr. Wes Maxfield in The Vampire Diaries, proudly and plainly declares, “I’m gay.”

“I just wanted everyone to know because I made a promise to myself to live my truth every day,” he continues. “Sometimes, that is a really hard thing to do when you have all these subconscious things you don’t even know about, from childhood and from society and from being, you know, just life.”

“So, there you go. I’m sure most of you knew anyway. That’s all I wanted to say. I also have a stye on my eye, which really adds to the whole drama of the whole thing.”
