Included in the language, according to BuzzFeed, is the promise to fight the Obama administration’s refusal to defend the Defense of Marriage Act in a series of federal lawsuits and a renewed call to amend the U.S. Constitution to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

Noticeably absent is the call to ban divorce. But I digress…

The draft will be voted on ahead of next week’s convention, but as it stands, it appears likely to pass. The GOP’s draft is in stark contrast to the Democrats, who promised to work toward marriage equality in its own platform.
