1. A new report from the Public Religion Research Institute shows that Americans are leaving their childhood religion in droves. One of the top three reasons why? Negative religious teachings about gay and lesbian people.

2. A gay teen in Memphis is suing his Catholic high school for not allowing him to bring a boy to the homecoming dance.

3. A federal judge in Wisconsin ruled that a school district must allow a trans student to use the restroom he wants.

4. Out actor and comedian Billy Eichner has joined the cast of NBC’s “Hairspray Live!” Those already on board including Harvey Fierstein, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Kristin Chenoweth, Martin Short, Derek Hough, Rosie O’Donnell, Sean Hayes and more. “Hairspray Live!” airs Dec. 7.
