The Human Rights Campaign announced Tuesday that Dr. Jill Biden will deliver the keynote address at this year’s HRC Atlanta Gala Dinner on Saturday, May 2 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta.
“Dr. Jill Biden has been a tireless advocate for the LGBT community,” said HRC President Chad Griffin in a press release. “For years, she has spoken out on LGBT issues from youth well-being, to anti-bullying efforts, to ensuring that our national dialogue reflects the lives of all Americans, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Through her leadership, she has sent a message to countless LGBT young people that they are valued as Americans and as human beings, and we are honored that she will be joining HRC in Atlanta to continue this incredible track record of support.”
Dr. Biden spoke out against anti-LGBT bullying at PFLAG’s 2011 national convention and is a frequent representative for the White House on LGBT matters.
