Sen. Saxby Chambliss investigating ‘All Faggots Must Die’ blog comment

Jim Galloway, who writes the Political Insider column for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports that Sen. Saxby Chambliss is investigating if one of his aides wrote “All Faggots Must Die” shortly after the Senate failed to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” today.

The anti-gay comment was posted on the popular Joe.My.God blog. Joe Jervis, who runs the blog, quickly posted the ISP address of the commenter, saying it appeared to come from Chambliss’ Atlanta office. Readers quickly jumped in to help trace the computer from where the anti-gay comment was made.

At first, one of the blog’s readers said it appeared the slur came from Sen. Johnny Isakson’s Atlanta office, which is located near Chambliss’ office. However Isakson’s staff verified the comment did not come from its office.

“We have seen the allegations and are moving quickly to understand the facts. This office has not and will not tolerate any activity of the sort alleged,” Chambliss spokeswoman Bronwyn Lance Chester told Galloway.

“Once we have ascertained whether these claims are true, we will take the appropriate steps.”
